So this weekend was fantastic. Emily came to town! I have missed her so deeply over the last 8 months. So much has changed since we last saw each other. In both of our worlds! She’s going to London this summer to study abroad and do an internship with AIU, and this was the best weekend we could see each other before she leaves. We went all over. She came with a game plan. We went to the Art Institute Museum, tons of tasty restaurants, the Nature Museum… I love her. It’s been crazy living here, and I haven’t really felt acclimated until she visited. It was a little funny leading her all over this huge city, on the trains and buses. Good times. Maybe she’ll move here after college… what a dream that would be! BTW, she got a missed connection the first time she got on the damn train. Some dude read her luggage tag when we were on the blue line and sent her a message on FB. “hey.. hope this isn’t too creepy, but I read your name on your luggage and was hoping…”. Anyway. We went to Bongo Room, Crocodile, bin 36, a fantastic breakfast place I plan on keeping a secret, and of course Chicago Diner. We went out with a pretty big group on Friday night so it was nice to have dinner with just the two of us on Saturday night at bin. (love that place! try #14 with some bleu cheese) The AI Museum is free for the rest of February, so I’ll definitely be going back for a full day. We only spent about an hour there, which is not enough time. I am starting to really love Chicago, but you never know what will happen next. I hope to stay for a while and start school as soon as I am able to get the residency requirements out of the way. This weekend was fantastic. Just what I needed. Pictures will follow… <3
