better late than never!
A few weeks back I had 2 interviews at Caffe Rom (it’s in the loop - love it completely) but sadly didn’t hear back. Until yesterday! The guy who interviewed me said that someone had to leave so there’s an open spot and would I like to start Monday. YES PLZ!! I don’t care if I was second string - Interviews are crap! I’ll love this job. I can feel it. See! Something big!! It happened. I knew I felt something. Fantastic! God I hope this goes well. You can get really excited for something and have it crash - like the other interviews. There’s always a 50/50 chance something will or won’t work out… But, I will remain hopeful. And so thankful I can hardly believe it. I woke up yesterday morning with nothing on my horizon for the day. And I went to bed with 2 shifts at other previous jobs and a new one all together. I am relieved. I know that a cafe job isn’t a post-college salary position, and I don’t get many perks, and I probably won’t make enough to get a gym membership, but it’s been extra hard finding a job here without a connection and I am so stoked to have landed this one. I can’t wait to be buzzing around, working all the time and getting myself out of the deep end. (Or shallow end, whichever it may be…) I’m excited. And I guess I can wear a tie? Random… it’s definitely a step further than Starbucks. I can finally wear all of the paisley ties I love at thrift stores and have had no reason to buy - until now! …wait. I don’t know how to tie a tie :/
